staff have seemed to improve on
what was already one of the nation’s
best Fuel Altered events. Whether
it’s something in the air or just the
allure of racing in the cornfields of
Iowa, they always seem to attract
the best from across the Country.
If full 1/8th mile burn outs, the
crackling and popping sound of
nitromethane burning monsters
interest you, then this is a must-see
event.
The WFAN weekend of August A Class Winner Jody Austin – Bushwhacker
21st and 22nd is not limited to just
the pro show. They also host a
typical weekend show as well so
you can expect to see Top ET &
Modified, Ozark Mountain Super
Shifters and Nostalgia classes. This
event is always a full house and
cars were on track as early as 8:00
Saturday morning after a late night
of qualifying Friday night. The
biggest and brightest stars of the
Fuel Altered World come to Iowa
and put on the most incredible show
a race fan could ask for.
Scott and Peggy Gaulter, owners
of the Nitro Madness car are a very
big part of the success story of the B Class Winner “Rocketman” Robbie Freels
WFAN event. Scott on his own time
reaches out and typically calls over
100 potential sponsors. This can
be very time consuming and often
thankless job. Money and support
are collected and sent to track
owner for coverage of the event.
Scott dedicates his time and energy
and takes nothing other than a
thank you in return. Gaulter’s team
runs like a well-oiled machine since
seating Roger “Radar” Lechtenberg
as their driver in 2014. Nearly every
Sunday the entire team meets at the
shop to prep for their next outing.
